I thank the Lord for the godly family that He has given to me. The oldest of the Velasquez siblings, I was born in Chattanooga, TN. When I was 3 years old, my parents moved to Spain where they started their ministry that would last for 14 years. I count it a privilege to have grown up on the mission field and in a Christian home.
At the age of 5, I put my faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to be the Savior of my life. All through my childhood years, the Lord worked in my heart in a variety of ways. When I was a teenager, I committed to serve the Lord with my life, preferably on the Mission Field.
When I was 16 years old, my parents turned over their minstry to a national pastor and moved to Venezuela to begin a ministry in the city of Valencia. I was able to spend 6 months in Venezuela before moving to the United States to attend Bible College. During my senior year of College, I met my husband Jeffrey Andrews. We were married on May 25th, 2001. On December 4th, 2002, Aaron was born. Our family is happily serving the Lord as Missionaries to the country of Spain.

I thank God for the wonderful heritage that He has given me. I grew up as a missionary kid in the country of Spain. My parents, Julio and Andrea Velasquez were missionaries in Spain for 14 years and they have been missionaries to Venezuela for the past 10 years. Likewise, my grandparents were missionaries to Peru, Spain, Venezuela and now Puerto Rico. I truly am blessed because from a young age I have seen the great need and the marvelous rewards of working in the service of the King. However, all of my godly heritage could not save me. I had to make a personal decision to receive Jesus Christ as my Savior.
At the age of 5, after hearing a message about Hell I became convicted of my sin and I realized that if I died at that moment I would go to Hell. My father showed me from the Word of God the plan of salvation and I received Christ by faith as my personal Savior. For me being a missionary was the most normal thing in the world and at times I took it for granted. But it wasn’t until the age of 11 during a mission’s conference while my family was on furlough that I surrendered my life to be a missionary. From that point on I decided that I would structure my life so that I would accomplish what God had called me to do.
When I was 18 years old, I went to the country of Peru to train for the ministry. In Peru, I was able to work in the ministry and at the same time study in a Bible College to prepare myself for what the Lord had called me to do. While in Peru, I met a godly young lady, Favianna. We were married March 1st 2006 and we had a beautiful little boy in December of 2006. We are currently on deputation raising support to go to the country of Spain. We will be working as a team with my parents and siblings.

I was born in Wildwood, GA and I moved to the country of Spain when I was 3 months of age. My parents were ministering in Spain and I am thankful for the privilege of being able to grow up there. Since church, individual and group Bible studies were a prominent influence in my life, it is no wonder that I trusted Christ as my personal Savior at the age of five. I thank the Lord for the privilege of entering into a relationship with Him at such a young age. It has enabled me many years of growing my faith and relationship with Him.
As a young girl, I knew that the Lord had a great plan for my life. My desire has always been to serve Him on the mission field. I had the opportunity to serve the Lord in the country of Spain and Venezuela before attending Bible College. After graduating Bible College, I was able to serve Him in Peru, South America. I am excited about all the possibilities that the Lord has in store for me. |

Julio and Andrea Velasquez |
My name is Julio Velasquez. My wife, Andrea, and I count it a privilege to be part of the family of God and servants for Him. I was raised in a Catholic home in Peru, South America. From the time I was a young child I faithfully attended weekly mass and I was put into a private Catholic High School taught by priests from Spain. I studied in the university to become an Agricultural Engineer. I had many friends and enjoyed playing my guitar at parties and activities. In spite of all my training and friends, I had an emptiness inside of me. I didn't know what that emptiness was until one day when I was 23 years old. A missionary, Wayne Witherell, told me for the first time in my life that I was lost in my sins and was headed for hell. He told me the only solution to my problem was to put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ who died for me on the cross of Calvary. I struggled with that decision for 3 years and then finally I received Christ as my Personal Savior. There was such a change in my life and I immediately had a desire to serve God. I began working in my local church and then God spoke to me about being a missionary. I surrendered to Him to do whatever He wanted with my life. In 1978 I married the missionary's daughter, Andrea, and 4 years later we went to Spain as missionaries.
Andrea was raised in a Christian home although they didn't go to church very often. Her parents had backslidden for several years. When she was 10 years old a new Baptist church was started close to her house. They visited a few times and then her parents decided to join the church. A few weeks later, after hearing and understanding the Gospel message several times, Andrea asked Jesus to become her Lord and Savior. Their whole family began growing spiritually and they got involved with every activity that the church offered. Two years later the Lord called her parents into full time Christian service as missionaries to Peru.
At 12 years of age, she traveled overseas for the first time and began the greatest adventure of her life, that of being able to serve God. She learned about the need of the lost around the world. She was able to be used even as a young teen in different ministries of music, teaching children and going on visitation. The Lord so touched and changed her life and that at the age of 16 while on their first furlough, she surrendered her life to the Lord to be a missionary also. After completing 4 years of Bible College we married.
After serving God for 14 years in Spain, the Lord led us to Venezuela where we worked for 11 years. The Lord is now leading us back to Spain to work along side our son and daughter. God has blessed us with 3 children, Deanna, Deborah and David, whom all desire to serve God as missionaries. My greatest desire in life is to tell people how they also can know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. |
